Founded by buddies, Hadri Hashim and Hanif, Thursdyvs is a tribute to Hadri’s father who has been his main inspiration for the name and idea of the café. It has been spoiling palates with extractions of coffee beans, farmed from different parts of the world and its scrumptious desserts and light meals for almost a year now.
Following the footsteps of another popular food spot in Bangsar, TTDI is also noted for its ever-growing amount of urban and cafes and Thursdvys is definitely a must-visit if you happen to need a coffee fix in the morning and a chill-out place after work.
With an eye-catching name and a yellow-coloured exterior, visitors will be fascinated by its slant wall that gives ‘an illusion of falling’ and a unique door entrance that gives a cool and a laid back ambience upon entering the place.
As most cafes offer a light menu due to the emphasis on coffees and desserts, Thursdvys offers a full-fledge, dinner menu for food enthusiasts to indulge in.
We tasted some of Thurdvys’ fusion-inspired dishes, starting with Orange Ceviche Salad. Ceviche is raw fish, which has been marinated, in an acidic marinade giving a flavourful taste for the vegetables and seafood. With a dash of chili and onion, it creates a spicy and fruity taste, thanks to the mixture of orange and lime in the salad.
After a little heat on the taste buds, we move on to a creamy and rich Mushroom Soup that has button and shitake mushrooms – a real mushroom-fied taste for those who love creamy soup. Do try their Chicken Roulade, a roll-up stuffed chicken breast is filled with cheeses, vegetables which mask the bland flavour of the chicken. Perfect as an appetizer!
For the main course, we were spoiled by choice. We decided to give their Pesto Fettucine a try. With a blend of rocket and basil pesto, roasted sunflower and pumpkin seed, it sure leaves a memory on your tastebuds.
Next we sampled the Salmon Arabiatta, (Arabiatta, which means ‘angry’ in Italian) giving a clear meaning that this dish is hot and spicy, thanks to the heat of the bell peppers in it. Non-spicy foodies might have to take it a little easy on this one. Overall, the salmon makes up the whole spiciness and is a must-try for those who fancy seafood spaghetti.
The highlight of dinner is no doubt, the Slow Cooked Australian Beef Ribs, a well-cooked beef rib served with glazed broccoli, carrots and mash potatoes on the side. The dish is served with a special sauce called ‘Jose’s Nightmare Sauce,’ you will have to find out what it taste like by visiting Thursdvys.
With a promising dinner menu, Thursdvys offers a lot more than just signature coffees and desserts. Enjoy an early dinner or late night coffee session with your folks, surrounded by great ambience and great interior to pose for your Instagram.
