In the spirit of Christmas and the holiday season, TM Info-Media Sdn Bhd (TMIM) organized a one-day event titled #CelebrateLokal at Menara TM Lobby on 19 December 2017, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The fair was held under TMIM’s Flavour of the Month banner, a targeted series of marketing campaigns aimed at promoting Yellow Pages Malaysia advertisers and supporting the local SME community, mainly through themed digital content offerings and on-ground happenings.
#CelebrateLokal was aimed at promoting Yellow Pages merchants and businesses.
Visitors to the #CelebrateLokal booths witnessed exhibitions of goods from key partners, and even took part in light but lively games with attractive prizes.
Among the games were online-based activities such as a digital spinning wheel, as well as a quiz based on a write-up published in the Article section of Yellow Pages website.
Ilham Flora was among the participating merchants.
The wide range of prizes comprised sponsored gifts from the participating merchants (exclusive Yellow Pages cushions, colouring books and more), F&B vouchers, travel aids (neck pillows, sleep masks, charging cables) and Yellow Pages merchandise, among others.
The homegrown entrepreneurs supporting #CelebrateLokal included start-ups such as flower arrangement décor and gift supplier Ilham Flora, homebaker BiskutbyNa, arts and crafts outfit SekociNorlie, and luggage and travel accessories vendor Luggage Bag Outlet.
BiskutbyNa was also there for the day.
Ilham Flora was set up this year by Ilham Zakiah Dato’ Ismail and Fadhila Othman based on their passion and expertise in the art of floral arrangement. The duo first started plying their trade through Instagram before opening their first outlet at Mutiara Damansara in May 2017.
Quirky and cute, that’s the feeling with SekociNorlie.
Also joining in the Christmas magic ‘lokal’ style was BiskutbyNa, whose founder Marina Sulaiman specializes in biscuits, pastries and macarons for all occasions. BiskutbyNa even conducts baking classes and workshops, and offers premix cookie dough for those who want to make the sweet treats on their own.
Visitors take a look at SekociNorlie products.
Visitors to #CelebrateLokal were also thrilled to discover colourful creations from arts and crafts outfit SekociNorlie. Based in Shah Alam, SekociNorlie was established in 2009 by Norliza Samingon. Handbags, coin purses, zip wallets, adorable owl plushies and a host of other goodies were on sale at the joyous event.
Luggage Bag Outlet was one of the supporting merchants.
A big thank you to our #CelebrateLokal hero merchants and all the participants. It’s hoped that a jolly good time was had by all in celebration of the treasures of our local business community!
